As a Chief Risk Officer he is primarily responsible for facilitating the Prysmian Group ERM process in accordance with Group guidelines and policies, proposing the risk management framework and preparing the necessary reporting documentation.
In particular is responsible to:
• Establishing and communicating the risk appetite and risk management philosophy across the organization;
• Collecting and analyzing key risk data and information and implementing appropriate risk reporting to
CEO, Senior Management and the Board;
• Providing data consolidation, reporting and management information:
- supervising and participating in risk assessment activities,
- ensuring on applied ERM methodologies and verifying the adequacy and operating effectiveness of
defined action plans;
• Implementing an appropriate infrastructure of processes, tools, methodologies and policies for
managing and monitoring key risks;
• Integrating risk management with strategy-setting and business planning.
• Facilitating, maintain and continuously improve the ERM process across the Group, providing an
enterprise-wide and holistic view of strategic, financial, operational, reputation, compliance, reporting risks.
Other area of responsibility are Risk Engineering & Loss Prevention, Risk Financing and Claims Management. He is also Managing Director of Prysmian Reinsurance Company Limited, based in Dublin, The Group's Captive operating as Alternative Risk Transfer tool.
Other relevant Alessandro's activities are on the Project Risk Management for "turn-key" project related to land and submarine Power Cables installation, the implementation of loss prevention standards, M&A due diligences, structuring and compliance of international insurance programs, Supply Chain risks.
He previously worked with Pirelli Group as Risk Manager EMEA, Marsh & Mc Lennan and Sedgwick.
He is Board Member of the Italian Risk Management Associations (ANRA), General Secretary of International Federation of Insurance and Risk Management Associations (IFRIMA) and Vice President of the Federation of European Risk Management Associations (FERMA).
