Giulio Volpi is Principal Administrator at the Directorate General for Energy of the European Commission where he leads the work on distributed renewable energy generation.
Previously he worked for DG Environment working on international environmental negotiations.
Before that Giulio worked for a number of years in Brazil, in the field of renewable energy, energy efficiency and climate change policy.
Mr Volpi has also worked for the private sector and for public advocacy organizations on climate and energy issues. He holds a European Master's Degree in Environmental Management from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam and the Imperial College London, and a MA in Political Sciences from the University of Pisa.
Mr Volpi has also obtained a diploma on advanced studies on energy markets from the Florence School of Regulation at the European University Institute.
